ICYMI: Daily Herald Endorsed Don Tracy for U.S. Senate

SPRINGFIELD — The Daily Herald Editorial Board has endorsed Don Tracy for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate.

In its endorsement, the Daily Herald highlighted Don Tracy’s “appealing mix of consistent conservative values and independent thought,” noting his strong background in government service, including as Chairman of the Illinois Gaming Board and later as Chairman of the Illinois Republican Party. The Editorial Board called Don Tracy “a polished spokesman for Republican values” and said “He stridently expresses conservative values on immigration policy, foreign affairs, taxation and government spending.” The Daily Herald ultimately concluded:

“He [Don Tracy] is the [Republican] candidate with the name recognition and political foundation best suited to the November campaign and to a term in the Senate should he prevail. Tracy gets our endorsement.”

The Daily Herald endorsement adds to growing momentum across Illinois. Don Tracy has secured the support of more than 120 Republican officeholders, conservative grassroots leaders, party officials, former elected leaders, and conservative advocacy organizations throughout Illinois representing the broad coalition united behind his campaign.

“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of the Daily Herald,” said Don Tracy. “This campaign is about representing Illinoisans who are struggling with too high utility and grocery costs, and a Democrat State government that seems more focused on extreme agendas than common sense solutions.”

As the primary approaches, the Daily Herald endorsement reinforces Don Tracy’s standing as the Republican candidate with the experience, statewide support, and leadership needed to compete and win again statewide.
