Don Tracy: Washington Needs More Common Sense Anti-Fraud Reforms

SPRINGFIELD — Recent proposals advanced by Florida lawmakers to strengthen anti-fraud protections and recover stolen taxpayer dollars would increase penalties for fraud, bolster law enforcement tools to investigate and prosecute scams, improve oversight of taxpayer-funded programs, and help recover money stolen from taxpayers.

"Taxpayers work hard for their money and deserve to know that federal dollars are going to the people and programs they were intended to help, not fraudsters, scammers, and criminals gaming the system," said Republican U.S. Senate candidate Don Tracy.

"For too long, career politicians have treated oversight as an afterthought. The result is billions of taxpayer dollars lost to fraud, waste, and abuse while working families struggle with rising costs and higher taxes.

"If elected to the Senate, I will support efforts that give law enforcement more tools to stop fraud, recover stolen taxpayer dollars, and protect critical programs like Medicare and Medicaid from abuse. Every dollar stolen by a fraudster is a dollar that cannot be used to help seniors, vulnerable families, or taxpayers who are playing by the rules.

"Illinoisans have seen what happens when government expands faster than accountability. Juliana Stratton and her allies have tolerated waste, fraud, mismanagement, and weak oversight in Illinois. Now she’s asking voters for a promotion to the United States Senate. Absolutely not.

"Working families have enough challenges already. They shouldn't have to finance fraud and corruption too."

Don Tracy is available for phone, video, and in-studio interviews.
