Don Tracy Condemns Bounty Placed On U.S. Border Patrol Chief

October 9, 2025

SPRINGFIELD – U.S. Senate candidate Don Tracy is condemning the shocking revelation that a suspected Latin Kings gang member with cartel ties allegedly placed a bounty on U.S. Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino, the same official who recently warned that “something is going on in Chicago” after federal agents seized record numbers of weapons moving through the city.

“This is unacceptable and indefensible,” said Tracy. “A criminal gang member putting a bounty on a U.S. Border Patrol Chief shows exactly what happens when Democrat leaders fail to secure the border and enforce the law. I stand with the law enforcement officers risking their lives to keep us safe. Illinois families deserve leaders who put public safety above politics.”

Tracy said the incident exposes how organized criminal networks exploited Biden’s open border policies, with continuing devastating effects on communities across Illinois.

“For years, Democrats in Illinois have pushed policies that make our neighborhoods less safe, from opposing border security to suing to block federal law enforcement assistance,” Tracy continued. “Their soft-on-crime, open-border agenda is not compassion. It’s chaos. And it’s putting people in danger.”

Tracy reiterated his call for stronger cooperation between federal and state law enforcement, renewed investment in border security, and policies that hold criminals accountable rather than empower them: “Support law enforcement. That’s how we restore public safety and sanity in Illinois,” Tracy said.

Don is available for video and phone interviews on this topic, with some availability for in-studio discussions.
